Lombardo returned to her native Calabria after studying in Milan, and has been making a name for herself in showcasing the potential of the region. Made from Nerello Mascalese, I was blown away by the wine’s complexity, with intense minerality, apple and Ranier cherry qualities, and a savory finish that will be wonderfully food-friendly.
